The Dr. Luis Calvo Mackenna Hospital (HLCM) is a public pediatric healthcare teaching center, founded in 1942, which provides various specialty consulting services, emergency and surgical and medical hospitalization for the Red Oriente, and for the entire country in highly complex pathologies.
Among the comparative advantages of the Hospital, it is found to be a National Reference Center for Bone Marrow Transplantation, Liver Transplantation, Retinoblastoma and Osteosarcoma; in addition to being the headquarters of the Department of Pediatrics and Child Surgery of the University of Chile, which constitutes it a Clinical Campus that remains at the forefront of research.
It is a highly complex facility, which annually serves an average of 9 thousand hospitalized boys and girls. The Hospital team is made up of more than a thousand people who work every day to make the establishment the best pediatric hospital in Chile.
Currently, the Hospital has 200 work beds.
