A LONG EXPERIENCE AT THE SERVICE OF PATIENTS
The Poplar Private Hospital was born in 1908 from the creation of a school hospital by the Military Wounded Relief Society (SSBM), an offshoot of the International Red Cross. Originally, it was a 25-bed dispensary, primarily intended as a school to train state-certified nurses.
As close as possible to the lives of Parisians, in 1910 the hospital took care of those affected by the great flooding of the Seine and, during the First World War, 2,500 war-wounded. The capacity is then increased to 120 beds.
From 1950, the hospital expanded (construction of a block and expansion of the school). The functional rehabilitation service was created in 1964. The second phase of expansion began in 1970. Since then, the hospital, bought by Générale de santé in 2006, has continued to provide care and well-being. be patients at the heart of its priorities, equipping itself with a chemotherapy center in 2007, an oncology follow-up care service in 2009, an MRI in 2011, and opening a radiotherapy service in 2012 and 2014 an unscheduled consultation service.
