Seoul National University Hospital

For the past century, SNUH has

protected the national health

and led medical advancement in South Korea.

We started from Jejungwon, the first western-style national hospital in South Korea founded in 1885, went through the College of Medicine of Seoul National University founded in 1978, and finally reached today’s SNUH, a special corporation.

In addition to the main hospital, SNUH consists of the Children’s Hospital, the Cancer Hospital and the Biomedical Research Institute. We hold 1,751 beds, providing medical care for 9,000 outpatients a day with 8,000 employees including 1,800 doctors.

SNUH is rigorously advancing towards its goal of becoming a global hospital that protects human health. In particular, all our people at SNUH are committed to making this hospital a patient-focused one, under our declared vision of  ‘BreakThrough21, Korean medicine toward the world.’
