The British Hospital of Buenos Aires is a non-profit civil association that aims to provide the community with highly complex health care, train excellent medical professionals and develop cutting-edge scientific knowledge for the country and the world.
Founded in 1844 by the British community in Argentina, and open to the entire population, it celebrates its 175th Anniversary in 2019 with a firm commitment to its values and a look to the future.
The Hospital stands out for its avant-garde achievements, for the foundation of the oldest Nursing School in the country, and for the alliance with the University of Buenos Aires and with the Argentine Catholic University that qualify it as a Teaching Unit and University Hospital, respectively .
It serves about 1 million patients a year; it trains generations of nurses completely free of charge; and trains dozens of medical professionals each year. It has more than 2,500 health professionals and its own Care Network with a presence in the City of Buenos Aires and the Buenos Aires suburbs.
Today, it lays the foundations for its next achievements through compliance with strict international standards, in quality and patient safety; addressing the challenge of soon accrediting by the Joint Commission International, a prestigious institution that audits compliance with strict rules and procedures.
In this way, it looks to the future and firmly projects its next 175 years.
