UCSF Medical Centre

UCSF has three main campuses, Parnassus, Mount Zion and Mission Bay.

UCSF Helen Diller Medical Centre at Parnassus Heights is located on Parnassus Avenue, near Golden Gate Park. Here the clinics are centralised in the Ambulatory care centre with the emergency department positioned on the east side of the hospital.

UCSF Medical Centre at Mount Zion is a hub of specialized clinics and surgery services. The best-known service here is the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Centre, which has won the National Cancer Institute’s highest designation — “comprehensive cancer centre” — for innovative research and cutting-edge patient care.

UCSF Medical Centre at Mission Bay houses three state-of-the-art hospitals. UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco has 183 beds and serves all paediatric specialties. UCSF Bakar Cancer Hospital has 70 adult beds and serves patients with orthopaedic, urologic, gynaecologic, head and neck, gastrointestinal and colorectal cancers. The UCSF Betty Irene Moore Women’s Hospital, which serves women of reproductive age to menopause and beyond, features a 36-bed birth centre. The UCSF Ron Conway Family Gateway Medical Building is also located at Mission Bay and includes outpatient clinics for both paediatric and adult patients.
